Mexican billionaire Ricardo Salinas Pliego, founder and chairman of Grupo Salinas, Banco Azteca, TV Azteca and Elektra de Mexico, tweeted on Saturday urging his Twitter followers to buy bitcoins and keep buying while the price of BTC is still low.
His tweet says:
You have to buy #bitcoin (keep buying when the price is low), then keep your #btc , forget about selling… trust me, you’ll thank me later.
His tweet was a response to the Bitcoin Magazine media outlet that in a tweet carried a message to its followers, “Stop selling your Bitcoin to whales.”
Bitcoin has fallen more than 40% since its all-time high in November last year, several individuals and corporations have bought into the current slump expecting its prompt rise, including the company Microstrategy which on February 1 bought USD $25 million in BTC and the government of El Salvador which invested USD $15 million in BTC on January 22.
Mexican billionaire Ricardo Salinas Pliego is founder and president of Grupo Salinas, Banco Azteca, TV Azteca and Elektra, whose current net worth would border on USD $13 billion, according to Forbes magazine, has been and continues to be a great advocate and saver of Bitcoin.
There are many occasions in which Salinas has talked about the main crypto and has said that he himself is a hodler (in fact, in his Twitter profile he defines himself as a Mexican entrepreneur and Bitcoin holder).
Recently, moreover, he talked about the possibility of Elektra stores selling Bitcoin. Before that, he had talked about his interest in Banco Azteca trading Bitcoin, however he was quickly stopped by the government.
